In 2019, Qteq successfully deployed a hybrid fibre optic and electronic downhole monitoring system in four deviated wells within the Otway Basin, Victoria. By integrating FibreTraq and ResTraq technologies into a single opto-electronic architecture, Qteq enabled real-time distributed acoustic sensing (DAS), distributed temperature sensing (DTS), and permanent downhole pressure monitoring (PDHG).
The project marked a significant advancement in well surveillance, demonstrating rig-less deployment techniques and ensuring sensor resilience in a highly corrosive and abrasive environment.
